Team of 4 play Pepper to accumulate as many points as they can after each player has batted once. If a hit is fielded cleanly, the team gets a point. If it is not, that batter is out and the next player hits. And so forth until all four batters have gone. The total number of points is used to rank teams against each other.

This classic playground game pits two teams against each other in an offense/defense strategic and athletic battle to steal the other teams flag and return safely to their own!

• Teams are of equal numbers
• A team member is "safe" within their playing area
• A team member can be tagged in the opposing team's playing area and then goes to "jail"
• A teammate can free a player from "jail" by touching them
• On "go", players try to capture the other team's flag and bring it back to their own side
• The first team to capture the other team's flag and return it to their own side wins
• Players can't enter the other team's playing area without trying to capture the flag
• If a player is tagged in the act of carrying the flag back to their side, the flag is returned to its original spot

Divide players into teams of equal size. Mark off the playing area for each team with a line or cones. Place a flag in the center of each playing area. Mark a "jail" within each of the playing areas. Make sure the playing area is free of hazards.
